Every morning I wake up to the dulcet tones of Florence Welch and my overly-affectionate cat, named honorably after the late Robin Williams. My cognitive capabilities begin to function half-way through a fresh-brewed, Ethiopian French Press. Mood permitting, I might make some avocado toast with a poached egg. Then my day begins.

Professionally speaking, I’m looking for to the kind of career that not only looks outside of the box but doesn’t care if a box exists. I miss the challenge, variety, and unpredictability of Agency work. So, if you’re the agency I’ve reached out to, here’s why you’ll love me: Passionate is one of many things that can describe my whimsical character, with digital design and analytics, being an integral part of my skill set and interests. I knew I wanted to work in the digital marketing world long before I even knew it was even a possibility.

The Days HPFF…Yes, I Was One of Those.

Leading up to my communication degree, I compiled over ten years of digital marketing experience making graphics for peers as early as Middle School using the now primitive Photoshop CS2. Those were the days of terribly written Harry Potter fan fiction and DSL. However, as gruellingly slow as the internet may have been in those days, my fellow writers and I formed a special relationship. We critiqued each others writing, and I took it a step forward by using my bootlegged design software to create eye-catching banners to promote stories I thought were the most deserving of some attention.

The ‘Aha!’ Moment

At the time, I never thought I was doing something remotely close to advertising, but that’s exactly what it was. It was my Freshman year of college when I connected the dots; I could turn my long-loved hobby into a successful career. Since my epiphany to now, I’ve become a wife, braved my first tattoo, written a soon-to-be-published trilogy, and expanded my expertise into, SEO, SEM, PPC, and plenty of other fancy acronyms.

The ‘Hey, I can get paid to do this’ Moment

I officially started my career path as the Marketing Manager for Two B Entertainment (IIB) where I designed promotional materials and album art for the likes of INOJ, 95 South, Marcus Gullen, and others. In the Summer of 2016, I accepted a full-time marketing internship at Captevrix, an inbound marketing agency, remaining there for seven months until I earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from UNF.

In January of 2017, I took a huge step in my career in digital marketing at BYO Recreation, selected from a pool of 90+ applicants. I manage the creation of mock-ups, e-mail campaigns, online promotions, analytics reports, and other digital content. My current interests are the overlapping of digital art and data analytics, and I’m currently branching out into Adwords and PPC techniques. When I’m not working on my book, I’m pouring myself into developing the best content possible for a variety of freelance projects, (emphasis on the ‘free’). You can check me out on Fiverr.

The Road Ahead

Because I’m always looking to grow in everything I do, I don’t want to stagnate in my current position. I’m always self-educating in hopes of advancing both my career and expertise in the digital marketing world. As Gandhi once said, ‘The future depends on what you do today.’
